Learner Permit Restrictions

On Long Island 1. You may not drive with a permit unless accompanied by a person at least 21 years old. Person must be a licensed parent, guardian, driver education teacher, or driving instructor. 2. You may not drive in a DMV road test area. 3. You may only drive between the hours of 5 AM to 9 PM 4. All passengers must be in a seat belt.
